Re-Planta Madrid is an initiative promoted by Madrid Futuro, and created by civil society, to repair the damage caused by the storm Filomena: more than 70,000 trees affected, 30% of the total number of trees in Madrid. Re-Planta Madrid was born with the firm intention of bringing back to our parks and gardens their beauty and uniqueness.Re-Planta Madrid aims to plant more than 10,000 trees in three phases:
Business Collaboration (February – March)
Thanks to the collaboration of more than 20 companies, sufficient resources have been raised to replant El Retiro and other parks such as La Casa de Campo.
Citizen Collaboration (May – June)
During the months of May and June, citizens can collaborate in two ways: by donating a small tree or by donating and planting a tree during the planting days.
Planting Days (October 2021 – February 2022)
The planting period will start next October/November, when the City Council will start to repopulate the parks and the planting days will be organised for citizens.
